Patients admitted to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital (DECH) in Fredericton who are registered as "Muslims" or "Islam" are flagged by the members of the Hospital Muslim Chaplaincy.

Currently there are two members on the DEC Hospital Clergy Committee representing the FIA; Br. Shaheed Khan & Br. Imran Khan see to the needs or requests of each identified patient, such as getting books, contacting other people for them, halal foods, etc.

In case of death, the committee members arrange for the bath of the deceased and then hand the body over to the FIA Funeral Committee.

Br. Shaheed checks the hospital once a week to know if there are any Muslim patients admitted and if they have any special needs.
